Independent Lifestyles specialises in working in the area of accessible mobility in the home. Many people who are elderly, or have a physical disability or sensory impairment need specialist adaptions to their homes in order to help them live independent lives. Independent Lifestyles strives to meet the needs of our clients in order for them to remain where they want to live, safely and independently.

Why use Independent Lifestyles rather than my local builder?
Independent Lifestyles is fully insured and registered. We pride ourselves on completing all works with minimum disruption to you the client. All our team are experienced in working respectfully and with flexibility, while working in the homes of vulnerable people. We are fully compliant with all regulations as recommended by Section M, Building Regulations Guide 2000 (Access for people with Disabilities) and the Irish Wheelchair Association.

Are there any incentives for me if I employ Independent Lifestyles to adapt my home?
Yes, the Disabled Persons Grant Scheme run by local authorities facilitates eligible applicants by providing them with funding for any necessary adaptions.
It may also be possible to claim a refund for Value Added Tax (VAT) from the Revenue Commissioners in respect of work carried out by Independent Lifestyles.

What is the Disability Act 2006?
The Disability Act 2006 applies to all employers, and anyone who provides a service to the public. There is now a duty to make reasonable changes to premises to provide easier access for disabled users.
